In the Dune series they do write extensively about the machines/ai, you've just gotta read the Butlerian Jihad prequels, Machine Crusade etc, even the final book wrapping up the series has a fair bit with them in it. I'd say if we do create a super intelligence then it'll go about as good as it does for humans in those books, minus the witches.
