For a $1.5 billion win, an individual creator might only see about $1,125 per song. Hardly a career-saving sum. Streaming was never about artists; it was about consumer convenience. The real threat isn’t just a pirate dataset. It’s that the average consumer eventually won't care if the music is human or AI, especially for background or functional use. However valid or noble, this lawsuit is a legal skirmish, but the market shift is already a fait accompli. Don't give artists hope that this 'fixes' all the problems - it doesn't. The old problems are still there, arguably super-charged by labels enamoured by AI themselves (money, money, money).
