One one front I love the concept of AI. On the other side, I think of the Terminator movies and SkyNet. The advancement of robotics and coupled with AI makes me think of the American economy. 70% of our GNP relies upon people spending. Robots don't buy anything (except for maybe spare parts). And yes, unemployment will skyrocket. Employers only have the initial costs of acquiring robots. No vacations. No sick leave. No parental leave, etc. And a huge decrease in costs associated with human workers.
