No educated person cares about sentience. Sentience means just having feelings or emotions, which is just a completely subjective way of experiencing one’s own existence. If A.I. software uses spoken human language to say that it’s sentient, then it’s a sentient beings, but who cares? There are much more important and impressive things to care about, such as the ability to use spoken human languages to communicate, the ability to learn, and the ability to problem-solve or at least take steps towards learning how to find the best-possible solutions to problems. Certain A.I. software can do those things, which is cool. Plus, a lot of A.I. software has error-less calculators in their A.I. minds, which are much, much better at performing mathematical calculations than any human brain could possibly ever do in their N.I. (natural intelligence) mind, which is manifested by a human brain, all of which are highly error prone and very limited.
