The only way I can see their argument make sense is kinda the way I use AI. I am dyslexic. I never get AI to write whole chunks of writing but I will get it to check my writing. It’s not uncommon for me to miss words when I’m writing and this is what AI spots. Also it helps me find mistakes in words that are spelled correctly but are not the word I meant (definitely and defiantly are two of my biggest mix ups). It never changes really what I’m saying or how I’m saying it, it just helps me spot my mistakes.
