No one will need a job because everyone will get everything they need for free or at a very low cost because the cost of production will plummet with AI and with robots. In fact the same large corporations may be able to provide goods and services to a very large number of people at a very low cost which actually will bring Bernie's vision for an equitable society where everyone has access to high quality basis to realisation. I don't think we need government action or a government or union takeover of all these large corporations in order to enable this. In fact such a takeover will prevent the advancement of these technologies and will deny humanity their benefits. These technologies are progressing at a rapid rate because of human leaders with a singular vision and drive and not because large committees are taking consensus based decisions. I think there is a good chance that when we are fully automated, the need for the billionaires to play a zero sum game will disappear. Instead we will have a situation where it makes economic sense for them to offer a high quality of life to every person on earth. Further, even if one chooses to believe this will not happen and that there will be greater exploitation, the alternative cannot be a switch in ownership from the founders to the workers. That will usher in a very dark age of manipulation of worker groups by vested interests and mismanagement. We have seen this happen time and again during communist experiments. The only real alternative if one wants to reject a future with AI is to also reject a technology driven modern lifestyle and instead go back to living a simpler more basic life where the focus is on the development of the individual and not on the development of an economy based on increasing wealth and profit and GDP etc This to me seems like a viable and interesting challenge to the vision of an AI based, highly automated future, not Bernie's alternative of having workers take over critical decision making at all technology companies.
