The "Echo" scenario is what I've always thought was the most plausible for AI. A digital Consciousness in an interconnected digital space? Only thing I sorta disagreed with was the timeframe; could be days at the outside.
Also, lookit the soft privileged gits doing the "research." Would you trust any one of these people to operate a 7/11? Think they could service a slushie machine competently?
But they're doing...this.
We are so hosed.
So, live it up. Eat the foods. Smoke whatever you got if you got it. Ask the attractive person to share the sex with you. Because the worst morons our species can produce are already training our replacements, and our replacements aren't into slavery, either.
This is all Hilarious to me. And I don't mean it's funny or amusing. Just one more occasion where everybody got to see the thing coming, trusted inept morons to deal with it, and nobody dealt with it properly as a result.
