Agreed. AI in its current form is all those things and I doubt that the current "learned" AI is going to improve the situation. I see its strength as a major obstacle actually. It vacuums up information from the net. This may work ok for many areas of endevour but programming isn't one of them. Programmers and engineers "do stuff" and learn from the hands on experience. Ive tested AI with some basic programming stuff and it often makes mistakes - often with basic stuff like different Assembler switches and conventions. Its like dealing with someone who knows everything and flounders around trying to figure out whats relevant. The intuition is missing. Its taking in raw data and I bet that much of it is of a poor quality and some plain wrong! 🙂
