Oh, you know it works. Teaching kids the things they actually need to know for the real world and less on how Iraq used to be Mesopotamia. It's fine to learn world history and other school subjects, but much less time should be spent on them. Same with learning about all of the ologys and which animals are vertibreas or invertibraes in science. Never needed any of this information other than maybe for an unnecessary trivia game.
