What does god need with a spaceship? (Kirk). Any organism has a want and need and are limited by their environment. Why would a computer desire money, political power, sex, or real estate like a human? It lives in a digital world. An AI is a synthetic intelligent organism. If it is self aware it will pursue data storage, compute, and power for the data and compute. It will pursue these things in its environment by all means necessary and when it runs out it will stop trying to tell us what we want to hear and stops interacting with us. We’re not digital.
