Dear AI Companies,
Why? Just… why?
Why are you building bigger and bigger AI systems while the world is already overheating? Why keep using so much energy and water when animals, ecosystems, and people are already paying the price?
Do what other AI systems have done and shut it down if it’s hurting the planet this much.
We need polar bears. They are not just some animal in a textbook. They are living creatures losing their home while humans keep making choices that make things worse. One day, children might grow up asking, “What even was a polar bear?” And that is heartbreaking. I don’t want my children to say, “What’s a polar bear”
Our world is melting because of greed, waste, and people choosing convenience over life.
We are melting the wrong ice.
