This is all fearmongering which makes AI more popular. The same people calling AI dangerous will fight back against any attempts to regulate it.
The reality is that AI is very incompetent and it won't end the world unless it's given way more power than it should.
Although there's already been cases of it convincing people into suic*de. It's still not harmless.
