2:33 (Please, pardon my swearing and maybe lack of or misplaced punctuation) BULLSHIT Inspiration and putting human art through a shredder then telling some thievery bot to glue random strips back together or letting some slimy algorithm rip apart someone else’s belongings is not the same thing and if you strip down complex characters, settings or other things an artist, of ANY kind, has thought of THEN originality obviously doesn’t exist. You’re pulling the human experience out of it and calling it unoriginal. Which is one hell of a view to have on this. On a lighter note 4:51 Most of the stories I have, in my head, take place near big forests and green fields in or on the outskirts of small to medium villages/towns because that’s where I’ve lived and grew up the most. Some of the stories take place closer to the ocean because that’s where my grandparents, that are still alive, live. I have a lot of fond memories of walking around on the beach, relatively near, where they live and having my mud boots or just legs covered with sandy mud, while picking up seashells, though for sensory reasons I was very specific and careful about it (wadden sea area). The adventures of an undiagnosed child™. Not to mention my characters are just different aspects of myself. Their personalities, their favourite food, their favourite music, their favourite songs, their favourite books, their favourite movies, little habits or gestures they do, etc. (obviously some of them depending on whether there is technology in the fantasy/medieval-ish setting I think about these stories in, botw/totk for simple example of what I mean). Hell one of my characters, who’s a healer who is appointed in the semi royal court she lives at, is based on one of my friends, who is a nurse, with the detail of being left handed and being the shortest in the group (kinda random details to bring up, I know) and the sister of said character is based on my best friend that I’ve had for almost two decades now (who, yes, is the older sister of aforementioned friend irl, we became friends by proxy while hanging out). Multiple animals/ animal companions in the stories are also based on pets my, close and extended, family, friends or close neighbours have, to varying degrees. Dogs, cats, hamsters, horses/mules/donkeys, hawks, owls, turtles, the animals from a farm near where I live (like actual walking distance and it’s close to the forest) etc. just off the top of my head.
