"Promots for roleplaying" is a very good way to put it. I would say this is also true for all of those click-bait articles about LLMs saying they hate humans and that one where it black mailed the researchers after threats to shut it down. Telling an LLM that it will be shut down induces it to role-play as a rogue AI under threat.
