So the way to beat AI art... Is to make worse art? This is poisoned art alright, but it's the art community that's getting sick and dying if this is how things are gonna go. The irony is that AI is so "hilariously bad" at hands because it's pool of references, the artist drawn art, has bad hands, or hands hidden behind the back. How this weakness of the art community became a meme against AI is baffling. That's like a right-winger calling someone a sensitive snowflake... Stop gatekeeping art. You're ruining it for everyone. All of humanity's great achievements were possible because someone else built the foundations. Every scientific achievement is another layer on a pyramid. No-one comes up with a brand new idea out of nowhere, we can only touch the stars because we have all been lifted up by the people of the past. Artists need to know that referencing is not just "okay", it's necessary. I hate that when I was younger the art theft scares were so bad that people avoided using references. Now we know better and have matured... Is what I would have said a couple years ago. And now we're back in that point of ignorance and fear. Artists are sabotaging their own works to "protect it from AI" but what they're really doing is making the AI versions of their style seem higher quality by comparison. Self-sabotage really is the best word here. You're handing victory over in a situation where there never even was a battle. The sheer dishonest and toxic attack in the later half is truly immature. If people dont put work into art then they'll be too lazy to be your friend? My most skilled artist friend is being yanked around constantly and is always getting into trouble for being late to hanging out with his friends, BECAUSE HE DOES ART. He's not miserable, he loves his art and he loves his friends, but it seems like a horrible situation that he is cosntantly disappointing everyone around him because he can only dedicate so much time to friends. Each art piece he does takes up 4 or more hours of his day. Anyone who's had that one parent who's job takes up most of their day knows it's liek they're not even there. They're basically absent. No that long hour job did not mean my dad spent more time with family because working hard translated into socializing. No wr live in the real world where working hard means sleeping hard and means I don't get to see you. You must not have many friends if you think an artist's life is one full of free time. Nothing in this world is more valuable than the time we can spend with friends and family. But that is exactly what you are attacking. A future where we are all unemployed is a utopia, not the hellscape you think it is. Because life is not about earning that dollar, it's about actually living your life. ...Also if you've ever commissioned an artist, giving them An AI-made reference is the KINDEST thing you can do. Please do this always. Real artists appreciate the clarity.
