Also not to even mention how machine generation as a mainstream technique is essentially doomed because of its process. As it becomes more prevelant, scrapers take AI generated images and add them to their datasets. Unlike a real artist learning from people with a similar style, this is essentially a cyanide injection, inbreeding. It tries to copy the copy and becomes more and more degraded. Chatgpt has this problem already, with datasets that incorporate generated text biasing certain words then feeding back into itself, amplifying that bias. It’s a doomed cycle that’s only broken by genuine critical thought and creativity.
