Two possible reasons for the vehement denial by GPT-5. 1. The less reasonable excuse: it was a prior version, GPT -4 or something, and it didn’t take credit. Or 2. Somewhat more understandable: It was a different model altogether, Claude or Gemini or something, and the guy just said ChatGPT because it is the most colloquially popular term for LLMs
