The controversy of AI use fades away very quickly when you think of vs whom that can be potentially used on the battlefield. Take Russia as an example whose recent practice to seize on territories is simply to wipe out the towns in full (Ukraine battlefield). They do not care of any collateral damage. as long as western world would focus on highly sophosticated, expensive and naturally very limited q-ty weapons it will fail against the army using 70 years old tanks (but having 1000s of those) and who has no moral obligations to anyone proclaimed as enemy.
