Stop making me defend AI art. It almost always sucks, it's usually just slop that you can clearly tell was AI generated.

It isn't. That's just not how these things work. If it was truly the complete culmination of all the works it was trained on, it would just spit out gray goo because that's roughly what the average of every color is. Instead, depending on the model you can adjust a number of hyper parameters, which will in turn influence the way it makes decisions. Many if not all also use randomly generated seeds, which again, introduces more variety.
