What does it mean that AI will uplift humans? Serious question. Humans are animals. We're apes wearing clothes. Will AI also uplift other lifeforms? It won't, of course. That's a nonsense idea. An animal needs food, shelter, a daily grind, and they're good. We know what's best for them, but why is the answer different for humans? We have all this evidence that our lives did not improve by technology past a certain point. But we're still talking about technology like it's a neutral or good thing. Ted Kaczynski had some good ideas.
