Dear concerned artists!
You can consider the data set argument obsolete because as language models get more and more advanced, a detailed description of a style will be enough to replicate an artist's style DESPITE the ABSENCE of the artist in the training data.
Knowing this, so, getting past the data set argument, could you please explain it to me without involving the ego (meaning "one's sacrifices" such as time invested) and without jealousy (mentions of "deserving" or "undeserving") why AI art is bad?
The camera obscura of the Renaissance was decried by many artists of the time as a tool for"talentless cheaters". Cinematography wasn't even a fantasy when the camera obscura was invented, but now we have movies.
So, again, please, as unemotionally and as soberly as you can manage, explain to me how AI "isn't just" a camera obscura.
