Morning from the states. There is quite a bit of discussion of autonomous as a definition. I think there may have been a gloss over of the definition of "target". Targets are discriminated. They are identified, selected, and determined a threat. They are also matched, or overmatched, with a weapon solution. These are all factors that the US document are assuming the reader is aware of when they define autonomous drones. Obviously the examples like holes in the ground, or a mousetrap, do not apply here. They go off without discretion of target. Anything that sets off its trigger it attempts harm to.
