If I ever planned to build a career on AI (in my case: music, because I used UDIO to make stuff to listen to myself) I would totally wait, because it's clear that a whole bunch of regulations and rules are about to come out in all kinds of countries. So putting a lot of work into promotion and whatnot, just to, at the end, having to change everything again to conform to the new rules IMO doesn't make much sense.
The "right" way round is to wait and see how the whole topic will work on the legal side - and then plan and work on a career "in AI" if one wants to do so.
Me I'm neutral to positive about AI in general - but I agree with the critic side that there totally need to be some laws and rules. As many say: AI won't go away again, now that it's here, but I would like a framework that then allows me to work with it outside of the current legal grey zone.
