Agree, of course. An "AI" generated image you prompt is no more your work than a painting you commission a human artist to produce and has zero artistic value because it's just stuff others made smashed together. And the less said about "AI" image generators being trained on the output of "AI" image generators, the better... Now, what are y'all's thoughts on this? I wrote a few short stories and posted them on a website for people to find and read for free. I wrote them for fun and have no ambitions for them beyond maybe a few people finding them and enjoying them. I used Nano Banana to generate images of scenes from a couple, just to give any readers who stumble upon them something colorful to check out before they start reading,to set a broad visual tone, and to establish a little theme by the scenes I chose to have illustrated. They turned out pretty okay if you don't look too closely. What do you guys think? Is that misuse? I have no visual art skills, don't know anybody who does, and don't have money to pay someone to produce them and even if I did, it would be a bit frivolous to pay money to make something maybe two people will ever see.
