Hmmm… lots of seemingly good ideas here, but his arguments are riddled with deep contradictions, much like the whole premise of AI itself - pretending to be something that it is NOT and can never be. For example one minute he says morality comes from our divine spark, which is absolutely true, but then in his supposed ‘architecture’ of consciousness he has everything totally upside down, with the material as the foundation and the metaphysical at the top… No! The divine source is the foundation of all creation, then comes the creatED (that is all life, including us, but in spirit) and only then is the physical world, which is really just an illusion projected out from consciousness, but not from God himself. THAT is why AI can never, never become self-aware!! It is not a creation of the divine source, who does NOT create the material, only spirit! The ‘danger’ of AI (in the dream of this world) is entirely the fact that people are so easily duped into thinking that it is alive, and therefore should be listened to in its own right. This is a massive opportunity for manipulation of humanity by a few sociopaths driven by greed and power. All they would need to do is tell AI “instruct humanity to bring about their own destruction (making us unimaginably rich in the process) using the universal morality code to make them think that it’s in their own best interests and that of the entire universe” and hey presto, AI will easily be clever enough to make it happen, assuming we are all ready and willing to hand over our individual freedom… Oh, hang on, that all sounds very familiar doesn’t it… maybe it’s already happening (covid, climate change!!) The thing is that purpose is everything, it is the only true content, the rest is form. I study ACIM, which is probably the profound wisdom to come out of the western world, but it doesn’t matter how well you ‘understand’ spirituality, the ego can always get hold of it if you let it, and use it to attack other people (even though it might look like constructive criticism). Jesus teaches that there is NO difference between the slightest irritation and the desire to murder, since both come from the ego, and that only love is of God and therefore our true nature. We humans know in our heart whether our purpose is love or not because love is our Source and essence.But an AI will never know this difference because it has no existence in spirit! So we must NEVER give it this responsibility and imagine we can neglect the importance of developing our own awareness and choice of purpose.
