Some academic AI researchers are coming to the conclusion that current AI models are reaching the limits of their abilities. Chat GPT4 was a huge jump in ability from Chat GTP3. This was achieved by giving much more hardware compute power to Chat GPT4. Open AI have repeated this philosophy with Chat GPT5, but the gains are to say at the very least, modest. Other researchers have recently shown that what we thought was AI actually being able to reason has turned out to be pseudo-reasoning, closer to accurate guessing. Also, if you take these LLMs out of their comfort zone, they still spew out nonsense. The AI investment bubble may well burst in the next year-or-so. Maybe the tech CEO in this CNN interview is lauding the power of AI to get more investment, before the investors wake up and pull out?
