I agree with the point of this. But, I think it's important to note, the cause of the misidentification problems in minorities of colour is probably more to do with flaws in the camera systems themselves than some abstract systemic racism.
Anyone who's worked with cameras and people knows it is harder to properly light and expose people with darker skin, so as to make them appear on camera as they actually are in real life. Especially digital cameras, which in 16 bit color systems will have far less resolution in lower brightness color values than higher brightness ones. This can also be an issue with remarkably pale people, and the camera getting washed out (far more comical though). This could easily carry over to facial recognition software that mostly uses face proportions to try to identify people. If the lighting isn't right, AI could misidentify parts of a person's face, leading to the nonsensical accusation of this fine gentleman on screen, who handled the situation incredibly well, all things considered.
