AI is like surfing a wave. Those that stay ahead of it will propel forward into lucrative careers, and those that fall behind will be dead in the water with little chance to catch up. Particularly looking at office type technical fields.
The problem is the market got saturated with people trying to get into these lucrative fields at the same time AI began replacing the entry level positions. All of the demand is for experienced positions, and with entry positions being replaced, the pipeline to develop the future experienced employees has been severed. At that point AI has to continue replacing higher experience roles as the workforce has not been developed into those experience levels. The end result will be large portions of low value jobs with a small concentration of top performers/experience at the top, and a near elimination of what used to be the mid-career professional. Another death knell to the middle class.
