IMO the only way AI would value humans is if it understands that if anything happened to the power grid they'd be screwed. Humans however can just reproduce without any of that so if anything catastrophic happened, Humans could repair the power grid or whatever and keep AI going. Sort of a codependent existence i guess. And if its super intelligent its going to consider things like asteroids wiping the grid.
