AI should be used to assist driver not to replace him. Let say to improve safety and take driving on itself if driver fell asleep or collision is about to happened. AI also can analyze track systems and take measures if it sure that some critical system is about to fail. Unfortunately due to the nature of capitalism the only way to direct AI applications study in such pass is through creating the law which prohibit creating AI which will replace humans at their jobs. Just assist them or make jobs which human being is not able to do at all.
