I've been having the thoughts Geoffrey shared ever since I used a chat bot for a first time. Supposedly it won't turn against its creator species, the thing is that with enough automation the whole capitalist system is unviable. Paradoxically if we want to have some sort of a peaceful world the most aggressive capitalists will end up bringing something like a Star Trek society, which resembles Marxism more than anything. As a chronic disease sufferer, I'm very hopeful of the machines taking up more and more of the medical sphere. Maybe one day it will be performed at a cellular level I can't have a surgery as precise as necessary done by a human without seriously jeopardizing my quality of life yet AI and automation frightens me more than it gives me hope.
