I don’t think Tyson understands what “general” AI means. The typical argument that’s used when industries are disrupted by new technology doesn’t apply with AGI. It’s not the same equivalent as when we invented the car and thousands of mechanic shops popped up.
The whole idea of AGI is that if AGI disrupts an industry which leads to new but different jobs, the AGI will simply take those jobs too, and so on and so forth. That’s literally the entire concept of what it means to be “AGI”
