For me it's hit and miss. I don't know how is for web, I'm working mostly with C++ and Rust. Most of the time the AI tools are doing great, but sometimes when the code base become large they don't understand some problems and there is no prompt to break the loop and you need to do it manually. It doesn't happen often, but it happens and if you can't resolve it you're blocked. The paradox is that they starts to have such problems faster in a code base created by zero from AI then in a several times bigger good manually written project. They saves a lot of time, but I'm not seeing them replacing me soon... but for a junior it's apocalypse, they are multiple levels above the best junior that I saw in my live... and with this speed who knows when seniors will be obsolete too. Don't forget that we're fiddling them with every line of the code that we have (not only the new one), it's a little bit like digging our own graves... I don't know how not opensource companies are fine with the AI companies have every line of their internal code, when you scan the project with an agent, little by little every file is tokenised and send to the LLM.
