The desire of these people to call themselves "AI Artists" says they want the title but not to put in the work to achieve it (even though your art doesnt have to be "good" to be an artist), its like people wanting to call themselves Doctor but not wanting to do the work to do a phd or medical degree so get one of those phoney online degrees.
