Why was he cutting off communication with his family? Is it because they were a toxic influence?
I’m sorry, but this just sounds, especially from some of the things he said, like he had shitty parents who want to blame AI for their mistakes and get a payout instead of taking responsibility for the mental state of their son. Nobody else forced him to talk to the chatbot over anyone else. Nobody put him in the mental state where he felt it was his only friend. This guy graduated and never applied for a single job- to me this all seems like a kid stressed and stretches thin by bad parents. As a society, Can we please start looking at the parents again when kids don’t turn out well instead of blaming whatever vice they used to overcome their trauma?
