the context AT THE END!? HANK! this declaimer and addition context from people outside of the hype machine is VITAL to this video and the AI discussion at large. The AI industry wants everyone to believe its special and different from when we developed other disruptive technologies. and while is definitely unique the scale and speed so far (from the 1960s or so) are nothing compared to our space or nuclear programs. There are many issues with AI harming people RIGHT NOW and tech leaders are not being held accountable,. superintelligence and extinction are very theoretical threats TODAY and are being used as distractions to drive speculation and sweep harms happening TODAY under the rug in the name of the grater good long-term
