Ironically, AI itself appears to be racist… or at least it exacerbates biases already present in the data sets it learns from. For example if you google “doctor” of the first 10 images maybe 7 are of white men, maybe 2 women and one black man. But if you ask AI to produce 10 images of a doctor, it takes that bias it learned from and makes it worse, producing images of 9 or 10 white men.
Source: google “bias and discrimination in AI” there’s already several scientific papers out about it
