The problem with the likes of Altman and Musk, is that while they distract with talk of universal income, they show no evidence of that being anything they are ever going to help make happen.
Musk actively shifted operations from California to Texas to avoid tax. He's worth north of $800B. He helped dismantle USAid. He is literally the opposite of anyone who would contemplate sharing wealth for universal income.
The only way anything close to that could happen is if all AI companies were state-owned. And even that is fraught with hellish implications.
