The American Chemical Society is training AI on the vast collection of patents and publications. As a chemical researcher, I can now ask very specific questions and get a list of publications. I still have to read the publications to find the reactions or conditions necessary for my own R&D. Since all publications are peer-reviewed or approved by a patent examiner, the "slop" is minimized. So in this limited use case, AI works and can only get better.
