These AI art fanatics are the type of people who prefer internet porn to having actual sex, the type of people who prefer looking at a photo of a beautiful vista over actually being there, the type of people who would rather watch a cooking show than eat at a five-star restaurant. It's less that they have no understanding of art, its purpose, then it is that they have no understanding of life itself, or its purpose. They think existence is a thing to passively "consume," as opposed to a thing to actively experience.
