I've been thinking for years now that this kind of a "robot tax", or more broadly "automation tax" is needed in for this automation era. If a billionaire replaces million workers with an investment for automation and practically reaps profit from refining Earth's resources with no human input or compensation, all the wealth goes to these few billionaires while expenses of the now jobless people fall to the nation. I think it's just plain stupid to allow this to happen..
