Programmer here, who has done a good bit of experimentation with LLMs ("AI") for systems more specialized than generating funny ChatGPT screenshots. AI isn't good enough to write a show, because it's not AGI, it's a very fancy language model. Corporations are overhyped about the current capabilities of GPT when it comes to doing actual creative work, and in my sector they'll probably start to regret the massive layoffs once they realize how not-great AI is (yet). Maybe in another few years, but right now it takes more work to fix GPT4 output than to just write something from scratch.
