Quick note: did our civilization fold and crumble when agricolture was invented? When we started to use steam machines instead of animals? When we discovered electricity and automation? When we moved from heavy labor work done with hand tools to mechanical tools? When we moved from horses and carriages to cars? When we invented the train?
Changes do involve revolutions and people has to learn something new or FIND something new to do. It has always happened in our history; so why the hell people are so gloomy about this? Maybe because they have no idea about history, and have no idea about what AI is and what it can (and can't) do... So fearmongering is the best they come up with.
