To put it in layman's terms on how AI work and why it's so controversial. Let's say you made omelet using eggs in your fridge. That omelet is yours. Now what if I, a random person, come to your house, making omelet using your eggs, then claiming it's mine, all the while never asked for your permission.
Sure I might make it differently than how you would make it, I would add my own spices, but the core egg ingredient is yours. If that's not stealing then I don't know what is.
As an artist I saw the writings on the wall years ago with this AI art fiasco but people didn't care because they said AI art was so bad you can tell right away, so they won't be taking my job. Well skip pass a few years and look where we are now.
