There was a time, where under good circumstances, in entire battles with large numbers of warriors participating and falling, not a single civilian died, not a single woman or child was harmed. But the tech to make holes was more rudimentary back then. And militaries didn't have AI. Some fatalists might say, let's find out and just see if the pursuit of machine-like perfection in warfare leads to any extinction level events. The price of progress respectively regress?
