So, a few of scenarios not covered in the video: - if I were to write a story/novel and have an Ai break that down into script format, then I make edits to that initial version, possibly redraft and/or restructure, etc, which part of the copyright would I own? - equally, if I had an AI turn that script into a video/film/moving image or illustrations (like in a comic) which part of the final work would be my copyright? Would I have any legal rights to the images? Or would I need to, say, design and draw the characters and settings myself and feed them to an Ai? - if I write lyrics for my own song plus a melody for that, but I need backing music and use AI to provide that musical arrangement, how much of the copyright do I own? Do I get any rights to the chords, being that the AI would have to use my melody and song theme as the inspiration and base material to create them? All that's mentioned here is one direction of travel - when the AI creates the base material interpretation and the human then interprets, edits or refines it, but what about the other way around? Where's that scenario? What about if it's the human who created the base material and got the Ai to help them reinterpret their own idea into a different format or medium? Would like to hear about that scenario. What makes me laugh about the example where an AI has taken a riff from another song and record companies might be able to sue over that, is that LOADS of artists have taken a riff from ANOTHER song and then reinterpreted into their own works. Pretty sure Oasis ripped off the Beatles in some of their work. Beth Hart's Caught out in the rain riff sounds identical to Donny Hathaway's I love you more than you'll ever know, but reinterpreted it into a song in her own right. Their record companies didn't take issue with this, far as I know. Humans do this all the time. Corporations want it every which way they can as long as they have control, even when they completely contradict themselves. The hypocrisy!
