What i thought is that consciousness exist because of our ability to experience things around us and it is part of our successful evolution and keep us from getting extinct. Our brain is hardwired to these experiences and learn what we should learn and avoid what we should avoid.
Our brain makes tons of connection every time we are doing something new and that i think the AI couldn't do.
