On a side personal note, I believe we are arriving the point where robotics and specially in the area of automation, if used the right way, can change and improve our way of life like nothing did for the last couple of centuries. The way we produce, our health standards, even our current economical system may change or at least adapt to it. Perhaps Bob Black will be proud of it too. If done right we can achieve those things. To me, personally, the idea of a self conscious machine is scary because it could put those things at risk, we are not there yet, but if we ever get to that point of advancement I hope they are not smart enough to start a revolution against us for technically having them being the slaves of the XXI century.
