The automated cars don't have to be perfect, just better then us. We're pretty bad at driving. The answer isn't to hold back technology, but to automate the "robot" jobs and let humans share the remaining necessary jobs, after that, I don't know. Maybe they spend more time with friends and family and learn to be more human. Balance this out with basic income. How we deal with these coming changes is a social decision, it could go good or bad. If we let a handful of elites decide, their decisions will likely only benefit themselves.
