1. I would think a self driving car would slow down and get out of the boxed in scenario ASAP.
2. (Related to point 1) This is a scenario that requires tailgating to be plausibly dangerous for an autonomous car. Basic drivers' ed teaches us not to kiss bumpers for this, and other very similar reasons.
